OceanGate, the company responsible for the operation of the Titan submarine, has released a statement expressing their belief that unfortunately, the occupants of the submarine have passed away.

We appreciate your commitment to finding these five explorers and your days and nights of tireless work in support of our crew and their families. This is a very sad moment for the entire exploration community and for each of the families of those lost at sea. We respectfully ask that the privacy of these families be respected during these painful times."

However, the death of the five passengers on the Titan has been confirmed by the Coast Guard. Rear Admiral John Mauger, who spoke at a press conference, revealed that a remotely operated vehicle from Horizon Arctic discovered the tail cone of the Titan on the seafloor, at a distance of approximately 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic.

According to Mauger, the recovered remains are consistent with a catastrophic loss of the pressure hull, and he stated that it is likely the submarine imploded, resulting in the lack of survivors.

"On behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the entire unified command, we have immediately informed the families. I want to express my deepest condolences to the families," said Mauger.

Regarding the noises perceived in the past few days, the spokesperson stated that "apparently, there is no connection."
