The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 3.1 earthquake near Ensenada, Mexico, in the afternoon, and a magnitude 2.4 quake off the coast of Del Mar, California, in the morning.

 

The Baja California earthquake occurred at 1:23 p.m. at a depth of 10.7 km, about 40 km west of Ensenada. In Southern California, the 2.4-magnitude tremor took place at 6:23 a.m. at a depth of 12 km, near the coast between Del Mar and La Jolla.
