Drivers are urged to slow down, keep children safe and check road conditions ahead of possible rain this Saturday
As Halloween celebrations take place this Saturday, October 31, authorities are urging drivers and families to take extra precautions to prevent accidents and traffic congestion, especially in residential neighborhoods where children will be trick-or-treating.

Motorists are advised to slow down, avoid distractions behind the wheel, yield to pedestrians at crosswalks and never drive under the influence of alcohol. Families are also encouraged to plan their trips ahead of time and check for potential road closures before heading to parties and events.
Possible rain over the weekend could reduce visibility and make roads slippery. Residents are encouraged to check the weather forecast and road conditions before heading out.
To keep children safe, authorities recommend that young children be accompanied by an adult, wear visible costumes or reflective materials, and carry flashlights or glow sticks. Children should also cross at intersections, avoid running between parked vehicles, and stay on sidewalks and in well-lit areas.

Residents are encouraged to leave early, plan for parking in advance and follow instructions from local authorities to help ensure a safe Halloween.
