To advance, the Padres need to win the next two games, starting on Tuesday, October 8, at 6:08 PM Pacific Time. The series is played in a best-of-five format.

The Dodgers will start Walker Buehler as their pitcher, while Michael King will take the mound for the Padres.

In the second game, Yu Darvish pitched 7.0 innings, allowing only one run. San Diego is aiming to repeat their 2022 feat, when they defeated their longtime rivals in just four games.

The Dodgers hold several advantages in this playoff series, particularly with their powerful offense, led by Shohei Ohtani, who hit a three-run homer in his postseason debut, securing the Game 1 win. Additionally, their pitching rotation features Jack Flaherty, who has performed well, though his last outing was disappointing.
