The National Weather Service meteorologists have classified the event as a category EF-0

A weak tornado hit the city of Carson on Thursday at 8:50 a.m. The National Weather Service meteorologists have classified the event as a category EF-0 tornado. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a call regarding a fallen tree due to the strong winds.

The fallen tree caused significant damage to the roof of the Del Amo Behavioral Health Systems building on Avalon Boulevard. One car was also damaged, but thankfully the driver escaped unharmed. According to reports, nobody was injured during the event.

Alan McAllister, a man who was working in a neighboring building, shared his experience of the event. "I thought the noise was an airplane flying low until I looked outside. I could see our pretty big palm trees just blowing sideways. We thought we were having a little tornado, and then suddenly, you see the tree collapse," he said.

Although the scene appeared chaotic, authorities were quick to respond, and the situation was brought under control. Weather officials have advised the public to be cautious during windy conditions and to stay indoors if possible.
