Tuesday morning, a wave of concerned users flooded platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to report the outage of Facebook and Instagram.

 

Users worldwide were affected by an interruption in access to these social media platforms.

Initial reports indicate that when attempting to log into their Facebook accounts, many users encountered a message stating that their sessions had expired. Subsequent login attempts were equally unsuccessful, leaving many users bewildered and frustrated.

 

Some individuals expressed concern about the possibility of their accounts being compromised by some form of cyberattack. However, it appears that this issue is more widespread in nature, affecting users from different parts of the world.

So far, no official explanation has been provided for the cause of this interruption.

 

At around 8:37 a.m. (GMT-8), Facebook and Instagram resumed normal operation.

 

This incident is not the first of its kind for Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram. In 2023, at least one similar outage was recorded, affecting millions of users worldwide.
