Paris Saint-Germain FC and Borussia Dortmund will face each other in the semifinals

Spanish football had a forgettable evening this Tuesday, as two of its representatives were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2023-2024 edition.

 

Barcelona was eliminated with an aggregate score of 6 goals to 4, after losing the second leg match by a score of four goals to one against Paris Saint-Germain FC.

 

Atlético de Madrid also fell with a wide margin of 6 goals to 4, after losing the second leg match 4 goals to 2 against Borussia Dortmund from Germany.

 

The key moment for Barcelona was the expulsion of Ronald Araujo in the 28th minute, which occurred when they were leading in the second leg match, with a goal from Rafinha in the 12th minute.

 

The French team had a fierce comeback, led by a brace from Kylian Mbappé in the 61st and 89th minutes, which added to the goals from Vitor Ferreira and Ousmane Dembelé, scored in the 54th and 40th minutes, respectively.

 

Borussia Dortmund secured the victory by playing better and reflecting it on the scoreboard, with goals from Julian Brandt, Ian Maatsen, Nicla Fulkryg, and Marcel Sabitzer, in the 34th, 39th, 71st, and 74th minutes, respectively.

 

The goals for Atlético Madrid were scored by Ángel Correa in the 64th minute, along with an own goal by Mats Hummels in the 49th minute.

 

Now, Paris Saint-Germain FC and Borussia Dortmund will face each other in the semifinals of the tournament.
