This Independence Day, several administrative offices and other services will be closed in San Diego on July 4th

Municipal authorities have released information on which services will be affected by upcoming closures:

 

* All administrative offices of the City of San Diego.

* There will be no curbside collection of trash, recyclables, or organic waste for customers serviced by the City’s Environmental Services Department.

* Collection of trash, recyclables, and organic waste will occur one day later than scheduled for the remainder of the week.

* Residents in other cities should check with their waste collectors for service schedules during the holiday.

* The Miramar Landfill, Recycling Center, Container Sales (trash and recycling), and mattress collection site will be closed on Thursday and open on Friday.

* All city libraries.

* Municipal pools and recreation centers.

* Public buildings in Balboa Park, including the Municipal Gymnasium, Morley Field, and the Balboa Park Activity Center.

  * Check individual museum and other park attractions for their holiday hours.

* Tecolote Canyon Nature Center will be closed.

* Offices of the Parks and Recreation Department’s Open Space, Permits Center, and Maintenance Assessment Districts.

* In-person services of the Development Services Department.

  * Online services will be available, including permit applications, inspection scheduling, payments, and code compliance requests. Check online permit processing times for receipt, review, and issuance of permits.

* Testing and Fingerprinting offices of the Personnel Department.

* Your Safe Place – A Family Justice Center: Individuals needing assistance with domestic violence should call the Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-888-385-4657. For any emergency, call 9-1-1.

 

Regarding what will remain open and operating on Thursday, the city provided these details:

 

* All city reservoirs, except Barrett Reservoir, will be open.

* Neighborhood parks, joint-use parks, and off-leash dog facilities.

* Chollas Lake, weather permitting.

* City golf courses (holiday rates apply).

  * Mission Bay Golf Course will close at dusk. The driving range will remain open until 10 p.m.

* Mission Trails Regional Park and its Visitor Center.

* Tecolote Canyon Natural Park.

* City skate parks and the Pacific Highlands Ranch Pump Track at 5977 Village Center Loop Rd.

* Emergency teams from the San Diego Police Department and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
