At the La Raza Metro station in Mexico City, two young individuals, identified as Rafael 'N', 27, and Yanei 'N', 19, were arrested by officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC CDMX) after being caught engaging in sexual activity at their workplace. Both were employed at a Movistar telecommunications kiosk located within the station.

The incident occurred during a routine patrol conducted by officers in the transfer area between Metro lines 3 and 5. The police noticed suspicious behavior behind the Movistar kiosk, where they discovered the couple in the act, attempting to cover themselves with plastic bags.

The SSC CDMX proceeded to detain the individuals, who were then taken to the CUH-4 Civic Court for committing administrative offenses and misusing public facilities. According to current laws, individuals caught engaging in sexual acts in public spaces may face arrests ranging from 13 to 24 hours, along with fines between 2,279 and 4,342 pesos.

The Mexico City Metro system (STC Metro), through its official account on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed the arrest and reiterated its commitment to maintaining order within the Metro facilities. Additionally, the STC urged users to report any suspicious behavior they observe during their travels.

This incident adds to a series of recent events in which the Metro has been the scene of sexual acts. Notably, one involved adult content creation by a creator known as Luna Bella, who sparked controversy by filming a video with an on-duty police officer inside a Line 6 train carriage.

Metro authorities have vowed to increase surveillance to prevent such incidents from recurring, particularly during nighttime hours.
