A man died Thursday night after allegedly falling from a Municipal Police patrol in Playas de Tijuana.

According to unofficial information, the victim, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was being transported in the bed of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when the tragic incident occurred.

The event took place at the intersection of Paseo Playas and Parque Azteca Norte avenues. Initial reports indicate that at the time of the fall, the man was not handcuffed, raising questions about the safety protocols followed by the officers.

Witnesses claim that the patrol advanced two blocks before the officers noticed that the detainee was no longer in the back of the vehicle.

So far, the Municipal Police have not issued an official statement regarding the accident. The case is being investigated by homicide experts from the Attorney General's Office of the State.
