Early voting dates in the United States.

The 2024 Presidential General Election is right around the corner. Ballots have already been mailed, and early voting began on Monday in San Diego County. Candidate campaigns are in full swing for the November 5, 2024, election. As election season approaches, here are some important dates that registered voters in San Diego County should keep in mind:

 

Thursday, September 26: Voter Information Pamphlets Sent  
All registered voters in San Diego County will start receiving the familiar Voter Information Pamphlets beginning on September 26.

 

Week of October 6: Ballots Mailed  
During the week of October 6, official ballots will start arriving in the mail. Thanks to the California Voter’s Choice Act, all active registered voters in San Diego County will receive a ballot by mail.

 

Monday, October 7: Early In-Person Voting Begins  
If you prefer to vote in person early, this is your chance. The County Registrar's office will open on October 7 for early voting, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Tuesday, October 8: Ballot Drop Boxes Open  
For those who prefer to drop off their ballot, official drop boxes will be available from October 8 through November 5 throughout the county. A list of drop box locations and a map will be available on the Election Information page.

 

Monday, October 21: Deadline to Register to Vote  
This is the last day to register to vote in the 2024 Presidential General Election. You can check your registration status by clicking here.

 

Saturday, October 26: Vote Centers Open for In-Person Voting  
In addition to the County Registrar’s office, some vote centers will begin to open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October 26 through November 4.

 

Saturday, November 2: More Vote Centers Open  
With just days left before Election Day, over 200 vote centers and the County Registrar's office will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through November 4.

 

Tuesday, November 5: Election Day  
Election Day is the last day to vote. On this day, all vote centers, ballot drop boxes, and the Registrar’s office will have extended hours, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, and the Registrar's office must receive them by November 12, 2024.

Before voting, verify your voter registration to confirm your party preference, residential address, and, if different, your mailing address.
