Here’s when they will be applied

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) announced that its residential customers will receive a credit on their April bills thanks to the California Climate Credit, a program administered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

SDG&E customers will see a $81.38 discount on their electricity bill and a $54.21 discount on their natural gas bill, totaling $136 in savings this month.

A second electricity bill credit will be applied in October, bringing the total savings from the CCC program to $217 for SDG&E customers this year.

The California Climate Credit comes from the state's Cap-and-Trade program, which requires major polluters to pay for the climate pollution they generate. This credit is distributed twice a year, in April and October.

Since billing cycles vary, not all customers will see the credit at the same time in April, but no action is required to receive it. It will be automatically applied to all gas and electricity customers, including community choice aggregation customers and master-metered customers.
