The Department of Fish and Wildlife (CFDW) reported the rescue of a pair of black bear cubs after being found near their mother's body in the San Bernardino National Forest.
The same animal protection society explained that this species occupies the mother for at least the first 17 months, however these bear cubs barely reached 5 months of age, which is why they proceeded to protect them.
It was also mentioned that they will be transferred to the Ramona Wildlife Center. For his part, Andy Blue, director of the San Diego Wildlife Center, indicated that the hatchlings will be protected with the least human interference, so that once they are returned to their habitat they can survive on their own.
In the same way, it was announced that the animal caretakers of Project Wildlife have conditioned a space in the medical center, where they are located before being transferred, with an environment of native plants and substrates as well as pine, clover, mulberry branches. , fruit tree branches, mulch, hummingbird sage, sumac, chamomile flowers, and herbs.
According to the Wildlife team, the bears are expected to be released next year once they reach age and independence.
