"Don't release the dog, hands up!" the state officer can be heard shouting in the video

A recent viral video shows a man of color being victimized by a police dog in Ohio during a traffic stop on July 4th. Jadarrius Rose, 23 years old, was driving a semi-truck without a rear left fender when authorities attempted to stop him. After a pursuit, Rose surrendered to the authorities with his hands raised. However, an officer released the dog onto him, despite contrary orders, and the dog attacked him while he was kneeling, screaming in desperation.

"Don't release the dog, hands up!" the state officer can be heard shouting in the video.

Previous attempts to stop Rose failed, but he eventually stopped on a state highway south of Columbus after tire deflation devices were used. The video shows Rose surrounded by officers, and one of them released the dog to inspect him, despite warnings not to. The situation is under investigation, both for the dog attack and Rose's refusal to stop the vehicle.

Rose received immediate medical attention after the attack and was subsequently detained. The incident has sparked controversy and raised concerns about the use of police dogs in detentions and arrests, especially those involving Afrodescendant individuals.
