On Wednesday night, the bodyguards of Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez assisted a civilian who was injured by gunfire on Cuauhtémoc Boulevard, near the Military Barracks, shortly after the Mayor's Third Annual Report.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the Aguaje de la Tuna First Section neighborhood. Upon noticing a wounded man inside a taxi, the bodyguards requested assistance at the entrance of the Military Barracks and called for an ambulance to transport the injured individual, who had sustained gunshot wounds to the jaw and left forearm. The victim was taken to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) for medical attention.

According to initial reports, the attack took place near the Walmart Pacifico store. Both the assailants and the victim were reportedly traveling in taxis at the time of the incident.

Minutes later, in the Valle Del Rubí, Terrazas Section neighborhood, police located a taxi matching the description of the vehicle used by the suspects. At the intersection of Maneadero and Santa Esther streets, authorities apprehended the suspected attacker.

The taxi was taken into custody by authorities, along with a loaded black .380 caliber Browning pistol containing two live rounds.
