The deceased man had worked at NASSCO for 30 years

A man died while working at the NASSCO shipyard in San Diego on Monday, according to company authorities. Although NASSCO has not disclosed specific details about the incident, the worker's family identified him as JC Adame.

Adame, who had worked at NASSCO for nearly 30 years, was informed of the incident by a coworker around 1 p.m., according to his daughter, Isabelle Adame, while they waited for answers outside the shipyard. This information was reported by a media outlet.

Adame was a father of four and a grandfather of six, according to his daughter. The family expressed frustration over the lack of information regarding the incident, noting that while they were told Cal/OSHA was on the scene, no further details were provided.

NASSCO issued a statement in response to the incident: "With great sadness, we can confirm that a fellow NASSCO employee passed away at the shipyard today. Out of respect for the family, and as we investigate the incident, we cannot share any further details at this time. There are no words that can suffice in this moment. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family, and the entire NASSCO team is keeping them in our thoughts during this tragedy."
