The city of Los Angeles battles devastating wildfires

The Eaton Fire, near Altadena and Pasadena, has claimed the lives of at least two people, while the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles remain out of control.

In addition to the confirmed fatalities, several people have been injured, and thousands of residents face mandatory evacuations.

In total, over 80,000 people have been displaced across the region due to multiple fires, including the Palisades and Hurst fires, which, along with the Eaton Fire, have destroyed more than 1,000 structures.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency, while President Joe Biden has offered federal assistance to combat the flames.

Firefighting teams continue to work tirelessly under extremely challenging conditions, facing wind gusts of up to 160 km/h (100 mph), which have intensified the spread of the fires.
