Dulce Casas, a resident of California, has started a GoFundMe account in support of her cousin , Jose "Pepe" Fregoso, who is facing stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

 

On September 15, 2023, Jose was urgently admitted to the hospital due to intense abdominal pain and yellowing of his eyes.

 

After medical examinations, doctors confirmed the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer that had spread to the liver. Despite the surprise and shock, Jose sought a second opinion and started chemotherapy immediately. He has received six rounds so far, with the seventh scheduled for January 11 of the current year.

 

Despite the advanced stage of his cancer, doctors have reported seeing significant progress and a reduction in his tumors.

 

With 18 years of marriage, Jose shares his life with his wife and two daughters, 3-year-old Emiliana and 16-year-old Maria-Jose. They mention on their GoFundMe page that the family is facing financial difficulties due to accumulated costs. Therefore, the family is reaching out to the community to ask for help to ensure that Jose continues to receive the necessary treatments. They inform that each financial contribution will be allocated to covering medical expenses and some additional alternative treatments that Jose is receiving.
